Best Movies of the Past Decade

Best Movies

If you are like me and you are really into watching movies and not sure what to watch and want to have a go-to movie. Here is my list of best movies of the best decade and yes, some of them are academy-winning movies!

WARNING! This list is not in order.

Once Upon a Time In... Hollywood Movie

Once Upon a Time In… Hollywood.

A good Quentin Tarantino movie to start the list. This is going to be the penultimate movie that he is going to make so he has said.

This movie is about, and no spoilers will be given, an actor in his final years (Leonardo Dicaprio) with his trusted stunt double (Brad Pitt).

The movie takes place back in the 60s when western movies were at their best. We also get to see a glimpse of Bruce Lee showcasing his Kung Fu skills.

And finally, we get to see Margot Robbie playing Sharon Tate and some of the people from the infamous Family.

Parasite - Best Movies of 2019

Parasite is a South Korean thriller movie with a little bit of comedy in it. I wasn’t too sure to watch it in the beginning because when you see the title parasite, I automatically think of a worm, and then seeing the people in it and mixing those 2 together I was kind of edgy to watch.

But in the end, it’s a great movie with no worms in it and it’s more of a metaphorical saying than anything else.

The Irishman movie

The Irishman

If you are into watching Gangster types of movies like The Godfather, American Gangster or The Departed you will most definitely enjoy this one.

The only downside about this film is that it was kinda long 3 hours and 30 minutes long but it in the end a great Martin Scorsese picture.

Spotlight Best Movies of 2015

This movie is about true events that happened in Boston and throughout the US. It’s about a group of journalists that shed some light on the sexual abuse of children by Roman Catholic priests. The series of events take place in the early 2000s and in 2003 this group of journalists win a Pulitzer Prize.

Moonlight Best Movies of 2016

This indie drama film won “Best Picture” in 2016. The movie depicts a life of an African-American boy in his 3 stages of life: Childhood, adolescence, and early adult life. It explores the difficulties as well he faces with his sexuality and identity.

Mad Max: Fury Road movie

Mad Max: Fury Road

One of the best reboots of any franchise. Mad Max: Fury Road reboots past films that had Mel Gibson playing Max Rockatansky. Although you might feel that it’s a reboot of what we have already seen back in the day this movie was really good for all the Millenials that didn’t watch the first 3 movies.

Inception movie

A Christopher Nolan movie that has anything a Nolan movie would have. A movie that if you didn’t pay attention you might have to rewatch just to understand. This movie is about a group of people that get into peoples dreams and create a dream within that dream.

For all the space fanatics out there we have a Sandra Bullock and George Clooney main character movie. If you are ever wondering or want to fill your eyes with nothing but a huge rock and space and stars this is a great movie for you.

Get Out movie

Get out

A thriller movie that will send some chills to your spine. This movie is about a young African-American boy visiting his in-laws and anything that you imagine can go wrong does go wrong.

Shape of Water movie

Shape of Water

What happens when you fall in love with an Amphibious creature from the Amazons? Well, in this Guillermo Del Toro picture you will definitely find out! If you have ever seen a Guillermo Del Toro movie it has everything his movies have to offer.

Split Movie

Most people may not know this but Split is actually a sequel to Unbreakable the movie made back in 2000 starring Bruce Willis. In this movie, James McAvoy stars as a person that has 24 personalities. His acting in each personality is superb and will make you hate/like each and every one.

Joker - Best movies of 2019

One of the best villain movies out there. This movie shows you the chilling life of Batman’s archnemesis The Joker. I won’t say much about this movie other than giving you a glimpse of a quick trailer.

Interstellar movie

Another great space movie for you to watch. And just like inception this movie from Christoper Nolan will get you asking what happened if you don’t pay close attention to what is going on.

Thanks for reading comment down below if you agree or which ones you would switch out.
