Though I am a writer, I never quite have had the imagination for writing fiction. Recently, I had come across this tool that generates a fictional character based on only a few inputs.
Naturally, I was curious to see what a machine like this might spit out for a character with my namesake. I found the results to be quite amusing. I can see where they have incorporated some of my inputs, but most of this is so far from reality, I’m certain somebody could build a plot around this character and nobody would for a second think that this Charlie Eissa had any relation to me whatsoever.
Here is the profile that the tool had returned, with my commentary in parenthesis:
Charlie Eissa – Profile
Charlie Eissa is a 39-year-old middle manager who enjoys listening to the radio, watching sport and reading. He is entertaining and creative, but can also be very pessimistic and a bit untidy. (We share the same interests.)
He is British who defines himself as straight. He has a degree in business studies. (Not British, but we both went to university!)
Charlie Eissa – Physical Appearance
Physically, Charlie Eissa is in good shape. He is short with pale skin, auburn hair and brown eyes. (Doesn’t sound like a bad-looking guy.)
Charlie Eissa – Background and Personal Life
Charlie Eissa grew up in a working class neighbourhood. He was raised by his father, his mother having left when he was young. (Oh no, a young boy without a mother!)
He is currently married to Ella Louie Bentley, now Ella Louie Bentley Eissa. Ella is the same age as Charlie and works as a chef. (But he is able to find romance in life, good for him.)
Charlie Eissa has two children with wife Ella: Archie aged 2 and Cailin aged 4. (I don’t know that my own wife would be amused if she heard this.)
Charlie’s best friend is a middle manager called Benedict Mills. They are inseparable. He also hangs around with Divina Quinn and Osbert Green. They enjoy blogging together. (Divina and Osbert? They sound like bad influences to me!)
I am curious what this Charlie’s day to day is like, and how similar or different he and I really are.
